The CMU Ballroom Dance Club Competition Team’s mission is to encourage dancers to practice regularly and reward the work that dancers have put into practicing with subsidization of competition travel and housing fees. From Spring 2010 onwards, the travel and lodging expense will be subsidized following these regulations:
1. Dancers who attend at least 50% of the club’s scheduled practice times, on average, will receive full subsidization for travel and lodging expense.
2. Dancers who can’t attend the club’s scheduled practice times may decide with their partners to practice whenever they’re free. Both the dancer and the partner should report their practice time to Competition Team Coordinator in order to receive subsidization.
3. Dancers who get placed (1st to 6th) at a competition in their level (getting placed while dancing down does not count) will get $10 subsidization towards the registration fee for the next competition.
4. The subsidization will be considered for each dancer individually. Therefore, dancers are encouraged to attend practice sessions even they don’t yet have a partner or their partners are not available.
5. Competition Team Coordinator and Club Presidents have final decision on subsidization
